Captain Michael Brown
Whether he's surfing, diving, fishing, wake boarding or out for a day sail in his home harbor of Sydney, Australia, it's safe to say that Michael is at home when he's in and around the water. After a receiving a formal education as a mechanical engineer and pursuing a career as a 3D product designer, he decided that his skills and ability to self-motivate would be better put to use in a business and environment where he was able to think outside the box, learning and growing along with the projects with which he took part, a balance he was unable to find amongst the more formal, traditional corporations and larger companies pursuing his skillset.
With a strong passion and skill for design, Michael dedicated his next few years to honing his skills as a shipwright with Oyster yachts, known for their dynamic design of some of the world's most elegant and timeless sailing yachts. Michael would later join the team of Warren Yachts and other various custom boat builders throughout Europe before deciding it was time to get back on the water. He then joined the yachting industry in 2002 and has since had the opportunity to travel the world's oceans from the North and Baltic Sea to the warmer waters of the Mediterranean, the Caribbean the South Pacific but none have captured his heart like that of his home harbor of Sydney where he plans to someday return by Catamaran, in true sailor form, with his lady love as his first mate!
With over 10 years experience in the industry, he has worked onboard some the most recognizable charter yachts in the market today. Working in various capacities ranging from deckhand to engineer to captain, has given him a great understanding and appreciation for the standards and service required to manage a first class charter operation. It is those challenges that keep Michael motivated to work together with his team to create an unforgettable experience for his guests.
In the evenings when the day has come to a close, you might find Michael relaxing somewhere with his acoustic guitar in hand contemplating whether his next adventure will be on a snowboard, a kiteboard, a mountain bike or possibly just a day on the golf course, all things that keep him motivated to work hard and play hard!
