Sharing the Love, Team Azulia

Captain Daniel grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and was raised by a family of passionate sailors. After attending college, serving in the military, and pursuing business he naturally gravitated towards his dreams of working and traveling on yachts. “When you
learn to do a job well, your work can become extremely rewarding” he says. Dan got his professional start at The Moorings BVI in 2015 and since has worked in the charter yacht industry for private businesses throughout the Caribbean and the Pacific. Having come from Colombian roots, family is something very special for Dan and he hopes to share that environment with the guests of Azulia.

Chef Sarah was born in Seattle, Washington and grew up in Cambridge, England where she dedicated herself to academic study and earned her Masters degree in Urban Planning. In her early 20s she had been pursuing a career in property development but found instead a passion for the Ocean that she couldn’t resist. Naturally finding herself in the position of yacht crew, Sarah worked in a variety of positions from deck hand to head chef on some of the biggest and most impressive super-yachts in the world. This brought Sarah’s hospitality experience to over 10 years, including time spent in the high end restaurant environment in England. In 2017 while climbing the ladder, Sarah earned her Yacht Masters Certificate and began to further apply herself in the direction of exploring the world through sailing as well as utilizing her innate passion for the culinary arts.

From the earliest memories of traveling as a family through the Mediterranean regions and on to South East Asia and Australia. Sarah developed a deep interested in cooking high end cuisine. A passion for food was born. She found that different cultures share a common tradition of community and intimacy around the dinner table. In her words “Food is not just about flavors and taste, It’s a memorable experience meant to be enjoyed with wine, laughter, and family.” Sarah adds a great amount of character, and energy to our guests, as we move forward together.

Dan and Sarah have been friends in the industry for many years and together make an incredibly dynamic and professional team with few limits. “We have the ability to relate to and connect with our guests in an authentically real way that people will love.” We love families and the exciting energy that kids of all ages bring with them on charter. We love sharing our passion for food, the ocean, sailing, and water-sports with guests who are interested in the adventures that come with chartering Azulia II. We promote a high end relaxed and still family friendly environment perfect for enjoying our little paradise in the Virgin Islands and beyond!

We are looking forward to seeing you soon!

How would you qualify skipper:
Graham was awesome and did a great job of captaining the boat while keeping our family entertained! Graham was always willing to do what ever was needed to make sure we were satisfied. The kids thoroughly enjoyed tubing and knee boarding while Graham drove the boat. There was nothing more that Graham could have done to make our trip more enjoyable.

How would you qualify rest of the crew:
Pam was absolutely fantastic as well. She prepared some of the best meals that we have had and catered to our every need. She also was a great guide and pointed out the best snorkeling spots in all of the islands that we visited. We hope to get some of Pam's recipes!

How would you qualify the yacht (comfort, features, general maintenance, etc):
The Azulia 2 is an amazing boat that is pristine. The space on the boat is incredible and everyone on our trip always felt comfortable and had plenty of room to relax. The beds in the staterooms were awesome! I am trying to find the same mattress for my home!

How would you qualify the itinerary:
We had a great itinerary recommended by Pam and Graham. We felt like we saw and did everything that we wanted to do while in the BVI's.

How would you qualify the sports and leisure activities/equipment on board:
Awesome! There is plenty to do for everyone. My son and I loved the fishing! Almost caught a tarpon!

How would you qualify the food and drinks:
Excellent!

How would you qualify the entire experience of your trip:
The was one of the best vacations that our family has ever taken! We can't wait to do it again.

How would you qualify the itinerary:
Because of the devastation of the islands, the itinerary was very limited. Nothing was open and we were the only tourists around. That was my concern from the onset but was assured by the broker that things were going well in the USVI and BVI. I also had requested that the itinerary be switched to grenadines but was told by our broker that our crew had another charter starting day after ours ended in BVI. That was not the case as their next charter is Christmas. Very disappointing and will not be using this brokerage again.

How would you qualify the food and drinks:
All on yacht was great. We were told a restaurant "Top of the baths" was open and walked through disgusting polluted water up the rocks, to get there, only to find it was closed. There was no accurate communication coming from the islands.
