Captain Ian Ross Paxton
Ian grew up in George, a city in South Africa’s Western Cape, on a coastal stretch known as the Garden Route. It is a very beautiful area that offered Ian lots of opportunities for exploration and discovery. He began racing sailboats with his brother when he was just 10 years old and even had the chance to represent South Africa in competition. His enthusiasm for racing nurtured his love of the ocean and naturally led to his career choice in the yachting industry.
Ian is also an avid scuba diver and is qualified as a dive instructor. It’s one of the many reasons he particularly loves the British Virgin Islands. Guests who enjoy snorkeling or diving benefit from his extensive knowledge of local reefs and favorite dive spots. His other hobbies include playing guitar, surfing, hunting and fishing.
Chef Laurette Feit
Laurette Feit is an endearing person with many friends worldwide who fondly call her Lolo. She grew up in Chicago in a large family of nine people. They spent summers on Lake Michigan where she first learned to race sailboats. Lolo has always been energetic. She was on the swim team and won the Chicago title for diving. She was a ballerina and a singer. As a teenager she spent summers hiking in the Colorado Rocky Mountains.
Lolo attended Northern Illinois University, Columbia College and earned a degree in Arts Management. She also attended the Culinary Institute of America and is certified in advanced cake decoration. She discovered that cooking was her passion and went on to work as a restaurant chef for over 30 years. For 16 of those years she enjoyed tempting guests to excess in her own French Bistro/Patisserie, where she also taught cooking and pastry arts classes.
Last year, Lolo decided to combine her two greatest passions, cooking and yachts. She accepted a position as a yacht chef, skillfully meeting challenges far different from restaurant kitchens. She says, “My goal is to make my guests happy with my cooking, to be sensitive to their dietary requests and restrictions, and to create memorable culinary experiences for them.” According to guest reviews, she far exceeds her goal!
Stew Lorena Loureiro
Lorena grew up with her parents and sisters in the beautiful Atlantic coast city of Forteleza, in northeastern of Brazil. She was a quiet child and her favorite pastime growing up was reading a good book, something she still enjoys today whenever she has a quiet moment.
Lorena has always enjoyed working with people, which lead her to attain her Bachelor’s Degree in Tourism and Hospitality. She began her career in the marine industry in 2012 working on cruise ships in various guest service positions. Two years ago, she made the transition to private yachts.
Lorena loves yachting and especially enjoys diving, snorkeling and other watersports whenever there is ample time. She is a patient instructor for those who might be attempting a new watersport for the first time. Whether guests are relaxing on deck, in their cabins or on the beach she is very perceptive, easily anticipating their needs and making sure they have the most memorable charter vacation.
Mate Dimitri Sharapon
Dimitri Sharapon grew up on the Dneiper River in Kherson, a city in southern Ukraine. Kherson is an important port on the Black Sea and the home of a major ship-building industry. So, it is little wonder that Dimitri chose a career in the marine industry.
Dimitri started boating in 2008 and began his formal marine career on cruise ships in reception, the financial department and as a dive master. He has always been a water sports enthusiast and is at the ready to assist charter guests with the yacht toys.
