Crew Profile
Captain – Jesse Clinton, USA
Jesse is originally from Savannah, Georgia, where at a very young age, he was introduced to a variety of boats and ships. At age 10, he saw a newly built Feadship on the riverfront that had just left the yard. It was at that moment he knew he was going to make a career as a yacht captain.
As a teenager, Jesse completed high school while sailing the east coast of the United States with his family aboard their 150-foot Class A Barquentine. That experience inspired him to work in the tall ship circuit and later teach youth transitional sailing and Marlinspike Seamanship. At age 18 he moved to Florida, earned his Captain's license and set out on his professional yachting career.
Jesse has spent the past 7 years crewing on sailing yachts and busy charter motor yachts cruising the Caribbean, Bahamas and the U.S. east coast. He quickly worked his way up in the yachting industry and took over command of Avalon in the Fall of 2019. Jesse is a natural on the ocean and an avid waterman. He takes great care to ensure every day on the water is exceptional. Combining the utmost level in service along with local knowledge and safety at sea, he ensures all guests have an unforgettable vacation onboard Avalon.
First Officer- Joel Monteith, Australia
Joel has been working in the yachting industry for a little over 6 years. He has been fortunate enough to find a perfect blend of being surrounded by the ocean and challenging himself professionally. Prior to yachting he has had over 20 years in hospitality starting with 10 years as a chef where he worked and travelled through Australia and England. He brings the core values of what he has learned over to his career in yachting. His love for surfing started from a young age growing up on the East Coast of Australia, learning at the age of 10. This ultimately led him to a life of being around the ocean. In the recent years he has found Sailing and since bought part ownership of an 87 year old Scottish fishing vessel turned Sail Yacht. It has allowed his adventurous nature to travel. He feels privileged to have joined as the Chief Officer of Avalon.
Chef - Wayne Dominico Gallo, South African/British
Wayne is South African by birth with ancestral roots in the UK and Italy. He grew up in Durban, KwaZulu Natal on the east coast of South Africa, where he first began his culinary journey in the restaurant business. Yachting was a great combination for him after having worked and managed many restaurants in South Africa, UK and the Caribbean. Wayne joined the high seas working on yachts in 2010 and has never looked back. Creativity is a specialty of his, and he is happy to conjure up anything your palate desires while catering to specific dietary requirements. With his mixed culture background you will find a fusion cuisine combining local ingredients with exotic flavors. From hors d'oeuvres to a formal dinner to a midnight snack, his culinary delights will tantalize even the most discerning taste buds. In his free time he enjoys water-sports.

It was in Key West that she was first introduced to yachting, and she has been happily working on yachts for eighteen years. Michelle loves the constant change of scenery, meeting new people and hearing the interesting life stories of all of the colorful characters she has met through traveling. Always up for the next big adventure, her yachting career has taken her from British Columbia to the Bahamas, and she counts St. Maarten and Dominica among her favorite destinations. She has homes in both Fort Lauderdale and Sweden and, when she is not at sea, she enjoys playing squash, mountain biking, home projects, or simply surrounding herself with her favorite people. In her free time Alexis enjoys painting, running, and will take any opportunity to take a swim in the ocean.

Rates
Minimun | Maximun |
$160,000 | $170,000 |
Rate Terms:
Inclusions and exclusion are not standardized across the different yachts, with each offering slightly different terms. Please contact us for a proposal that details the yacht’s availability and individual pricing based on the number of guests in your party, as well as the list of the inclusions and exclusions for that particular yacht.
This Yacht offers a “Plus Expenses” Rate:
Included are the Yacht and its onboard equipment as well as the Captain, Chef and Crew’s services.
Excluded are food and beverages, fuel for the yacht and its tender, any dockage, airport transfers costs, onshore excursions and tours, as well as any cruising permits, licenses and other charter related expenses. Crew gratuity, although optional is customary at 15% - 20% of the charter rate for the Caribbean and 10% - 15% for the Mediterranean.
Advanced Provisioning Allowance:
For "Plus Expenses" charters, yachts request an Advance Provisioning Allowance
(APA), which is generally estimated at 20% - 25% of the base charter fee for
sailing yachts (catamarans and monohulls) and at 30%-35% for motor yachts. The
APA essentially creates a bank account for the Captain to purchase provisions,
fuel, dockage, food, beverages, bar, and other consumables on the charterer's
behalf. The Captain will keep all receipts and manage a running balance of the
account, so that expenditures can be checked at any time. Any amount not used
will be refunded at the end of the charter. If during the charter the costs have
exceeded the collected APA, then additional funds will be required for the
outstanding bills. All purchases are transparent and nothing is marked up. The
APA is used purely for the charterer's provisions and charter-related expenses.
