Captain
Brief
Captain: Daud McLean Alfredo Banea
Language: English, indonesian
He has worked for several LoBs before joining Manta Mae in September
2018. He is a gentle Captain that works hard and quickly earned respect
from other longer serving crew. He is originally from Jakarta and has been
working on boats since 1999.
Cruise Manager: Ben
He originally from Yorkshire England has lived in Indonesia for 21
years, he has been diving for 33yrs, is a BSAC, PADI & SSI Instructor.
Ben has done about 5.400 dives and taught 640+ dive courses and 67
local Indonesians. Ben has worked on LoBs in Raja Ampat for 9 years
and Komodo/Banda Sea for 3 years. He is married to a Java lady and
speaks fluent Indonesian language.
Chef: Iwan
He is from Sangir Island, North Sulawesi. He has worked on several
LoBs and before joing Manta Mae he was cooking in the Swissbell
Manado. He prepare delicious variable food and always is on time,
also satisfied the palate of our Italian owner, a real challenge !
Chief Officer: Selfius
He is originally from Bitung Island but now lives in Sorong. He is a great
worker and will do what ever i ask and rarely needs reminding, he organises
and works very well with Manta Mae crew. Selfius is a real asset to Manta
Mae. Before joining us he worked on a budget LoB in Raja Ampat for
several years.
First Engineer: Marlon
He is from Makassar but was born in Toraja in central Sulawesi. He has been working
as a mechanic for the past 18yr. He is very knowledgeable and a great asset to
Manta Mae as he will work all hours of the day with no complaints and always
with smile.
Second Engineer and Dinghy: Anton
He is a real asset to Manta Mae as he not only can the speed boat and Manta Mae but he is
also a wizard with electrics and a very good assistant mechanic. He is originally from Java
but was born and lives in Sorong.
Assistant mechanic: Yasser
He has worked 12yr on boats, although most of his experiencehas
been on tankers he used to work on one of the most prestigious
LoBs in Indonesia. Like Marlon, Yasser is originally from Toraja in
Central Sulawesi, he makes the perfect assistant to Marlon as he
too likes to work hard.
Waiter and house keeping: Firman
He is the hardest worker i have ever met, he constantly is making Manta
Mae look neat and tidy, always ready for whatever the guest ask for tea,
coffee, beer etc. Firman looks for work and is more happy to work than sit
and play with his phone. Of all the crew onboard Manta Mae it is Firman that
shines above all and like other crew is a real asset to Manta Mae.

This yacht offers an “All Inclusive” Rate:
Typically this includes all your breakfasts, lunches, dinners and snacks. Standard Ship's Bar which includes your alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages. Fuel for the yacht and its tender, and the necessary water for the onboard facilities. Use of the Yacht’s onboard equipment and the Captain, Chef and Crew’s services.
Excluded are airport transfers costs, onshore excursions and tours, as well as any food or beverages purchased ashore. Although optional, crew gratuity is customary at 15% - 20% of the charter rate for the Caribbean and 10% - 15% for the Mediterranean.

This Yacht offers a “Plus Expenses” Rate:
Included are the Yacht and its onboard equipment as well as the Captain, Chef and Crew’s services.
Excluded are food and beverages, fuel for the yacht and its tender, any dockage, airport transfers costs, onshore excursions and tours, as well as any cruising permits, licenses and other charter related expenses. Crew gratuity, although optional is customary at 15% - 20% of the charter rate for the Caribbean and 10% - 15% for the Mediterranean.
Advanced Provisioning Allowance:
For "Plus Expenses" charters, yachts request an Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA), which is generally estimated at 20% - 25% of the base charter fee for sailing yachts (catamarans and monohulls) and at 30%-35% for motor yachts. The APA essentially creates a bank account for the Captain to purchase provisions, fuel, dockage, food, beverages, bar, and other consumables on the charterer's behalf. The Captain will keep all receipts and manage a running balance of the account, so that expenditures can be checked at any time. Any amount not used will be refunded at the end of the charter. If during the charter the costs have exceeded the collected APA, then additional funds will be required for the outstanding bills. All purchases are transparent and nothing is marked up. The APA is used purely for the charterer's provisions and charter-related expenses.
