Crew Profile
CAPTAIN | TAYLOR BOWKER | SOUTH AFRICAN
Taylor was born in Johannesburg, South Africa and was by no means brought up around, or on the ocean. It was his attraction to adventure and travel that pushed him to sail a 40ft catamaran across the Atlantic Ocean from Cape Town, South Africa to Annapolis, Maryland at the age of 18. It was from there that he began his career on yachts.
Taylor has traveled a vast amount of the world by sea, having encountered all sorts of weather and emergencies in his years of yachting. Taylor has performed and excelled in every role throughout his yachting career, including chief engineer on a 146ft jet drive yacht at the age of 28. Due to his extensive knowledge on the land, sea and behind the scene mechanics, Taylor carry’s a calm, collected and educated approach to any situation. Taylor has been Captaining motor yachts since the age of 25 and will ensure you a safe voyage aboard Jus Chill’n.
To top it off Taylor holds a PADI dive master, certified free diver and is an expert spear fisherman. If you are interested in water sports, Taylor is your guy. He can lead you through the lively reefs and wrecks of the clear Bahamas water and even catch your dinner!
This, along with his friendly demeanor has created a favorable reputation for Taylor in the super yachting industry. On his off time he can be found venturing the mountains in Maine or diving the reefs of Central America. His passion for the outdoors and happy go lucky attitude will have you smiling for weeks after your trip.
CHEF/STEW | ELODIE DAVIS | AMERICAN - CANADIAN
Having grown up in the mountains of New England, Elodie’s love for the outdoors has always been strong. Her summers were spent sailing the ridged Maine coastline, while her winters were spent skiing the White Mountains. At an early age, Elodie was taught to grow her own produce on the family farm which created her palate and value of fresh and flavorful foods.
Being a dual citizen of the U.S. and Canada, Elodie decided to take on a double major in Criminology and Sociology in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Shortly after graduating with a Bachelor of Arts, she made the decision to join the yachting industry in 2015, to combine her passion of traveling the world with working on the ocean. Elodie has been lucky to travel many destinations all over the world on Super Yachts, including the South Pacific, Australia, Central America, the East and West Coast of the United States, the Mediterranean and Caribbean. She has taken pride in learning cuisine styles on all of her travels and incorporates them into her cooking style.
Elodie’s positive, upbeat and caring attitude creates for a fun-loving presence onboard amongst crew and guests. Elodie’s focus is always the guests experience, and she does everything she can to make the guests stay onboard memorable. Rates
Rate Terms:
Inclusions and exclusion are not standardized across the different yachts, with each offering slightly different terms. Please contact us for a proposal that details the yacht’s availability and individual pricing based on the number of guests in your party, as well as the list of the inclusions and exclusions for that particular yacht.
This Yacht offers a “Plus Expenses” Rate:
Included are the Yacht and its onboard equipment as well as the Captain, Chef and Crew’s services.
Excluded are food and beverages, fuel for the yacht and its tender, any dockage, airport transfers costs, onshore excursions and tours, as well as any cruising permits, licenses and other charter related expenses. Crew gratuity, although optional is customary at 15% - 20% of the charter rate for the Caribbean and 10% - 15% for the Mediterranean.
Advanced Provisioning Allowance:
For "Plus Expenses" charters, yachts request an Advance Provisioning Allowance
(APA), which is generally estimated at 20% - 25% of the base charter fee for
sailing yachts (catamarans and monohulls) and at 30%-35% for motor yachts. The
APA essentially creates a bank account for the Captain to purchase provisions,
fuel, dockage, food, beverages, bar, and other consumables on the charterer's
behalf. The Captain will keep all receipts and manage a running balance of the
account, so that expenditures can be checked at any time. Any amount not used
will be refunded at the end of the charter. If during the charter the costs have
exceeded the collected APA, then additional funds will be required for the
outstanding bills. All purchases are transparent and nothing is marked up. The
APA is used purely for the charterer's provisions and charter-related expenses.
Please Note:
Our team endeavors to provide up to date and accurate information
regarding each
yacht in our listing, however some yachts reserve the right to make last minute
changes to their availability and rates. With this in mind, please note that
premium rates may be attached to certain destinations and dates, such as
Christmas and New Years in the Caribbean or July and August in the
Mediterranean. Kindly contact us for a proposal that details the yacht’s final
rate and availability.
