BahamasAbout
Having recently completed a 3+ year and $4 million + authentic restoration, the 80’ Trumpy motor yacht BB has returned to her original 1947 splendor. Understatedly called a “houseboat” by her designers because the yachts offered her owners all the comforts & amenities of home, Trumpy was considered the Rolls-Royce of American Yachting. Known for their meticulous craftsmanship owners of Trumpy yachts included the likes of Howard Hughes, the Guggenheims, Dupont’s, Chrysler& Dodge families. BB has generous walk-around decks and high stations with varnished teak cap rails. The aft deck has a large custom built varnished teak oval dining table which offers spacious seating for 8, with a curved banquette aft and 4 sturdy mid-century teak dining chairs. The “card room” – which doubled as the original owner’s office, is located forward. The card room offers great views while underway or at anchor and is a wonderful space with a cozy settee aft, and a forward ¾ day bed for sleeping an additional guest. The opening windows have custom wood venetian blinds and port and starboard doors provide excellent natural cross ventilation for an alternative to the yacht’s new air conditioning system. The foredeck is graced by a large centerline sliding teak hatch for deck access to crew quarters & galley. Cabin configuration: Master - The generously appointed master stateroom is located aft and features a queen size centerline berth accompanied by a built-in pop up flat-screen TV that goes up and down as desired by the guest. Twin aft bulkhead dressers and bedside reading lamps are located on either side of the queen berth. The bulkhead mirror lies above the queen berth. Twin bench seats and hanging lockers are located on either side of the queen berth. En suite facilities located port feature teak and holly sole with a large washbasin, mirrored vanity, 2 storage lockers, Tecma fresh water flush head, ¾ bathtub and shower. 2 sliding shuttered opening ports allow fresh air to flow freely. Guest 1: Exiting the master stateroom, the starboard twin guest cabin en suite facility is located to starboard and forward is the starboard twin guest cabin. The guest cabin features a twin berth with the option to convert to a full-size queen berth. Desk and bureau accompany the berth as well as a hanging locker. Entering the en suite facilities, stall shower with teak grating, generous storage, Tecma fresh water flush head and mirrored vanity. Guest 2: Exiting the twin stateroom and moving forward to port, a third cabin features upper and lower bunks with a shared day head.

Crew Profile
Your crew onboard BB are a delightful team whose professional attitude and friendly, enthusiastic disposition will ensure that your vacation onboard MY BB will be an unforgettable one.
Bob & Sharon have been a couple since 1989. Since 2000, after moving to BVI, they have been enjoying their career together, as a professional charter boat team.
Bob has had a passion for sailing since his early teens, where he sailed the Great Lakes of Canada. He owned his first boat in his early twenties & moved to the Cayman Islands in 1992 where he started his professional sailing career.
As a captain, Bob has sailed the east coast of the United States from Miami to Maine, most of the Carribean Islands, crossed the Atlantic Ocean from Spain, to Italy & France.
In his spare time you will find Bob listening to music (he owned a record store before he started professional sailing) or enjoying the outdoors.
Sharon started sailing after meeting Bob. After many years in the beauty business (she owned and operated a hair salon and several bath and beauty boutiques) she turned her creative talents to the galley. While sailing with Bob she has developed an international cooking style and greatly enjoys catering to all dietary and culinary needs and preferences. When not in the galley Sharon enjoys walking, hiking, yoga, travel and of course, finding that great next meal.
Sharon & Bob’s personalities are charming and friendly. They have a great sense of humor and an infectious laugh, which make people feel at home and welcome. They are patient & flexible, possess strong hospitality skills and enjoy involvement with guests, but also understand the need for privacy. They always aim to exceed every guest's expectation and try to anticipate their needs and cater to them. Whether enjoying quiet anchorages, lively beach bars, hiking or exploring quaint villages, relaxing on beautiful beaches or simply enjoying the sun, they have the knowledge and experience to take you there. Their entertaining nature and flair for hospitality will ensure that the time you spend on MY BB will be an unforgettable experience.

This Yacht offers a “Plus Expenses” Rate:
Included are the Yacht and its onboard equipment as well as the Captain, Chef and Crew’s services.
Excluded are food and beverages, fuel for the yacht and its tender, any dockage, airport transfers costs, onshore excursions and tours, as well as any cruising permits, licenses and other charter related expenses. Crew gratuity, although optional is customary at 15% - 20% of the charter rate for the Caribbean and 10% - 15% for the Mediterranean.
Advanced Provisioning Allowance:
For "Plus Expenses" charters, yachts request an Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA), which is generally estimated at 20% - 25% of the base charter fee for sailing yachts (catamarans and monohulls) and at 30%-35% for motor yachts. The APA essentially creates a bank account for the Captain to purchase provisions, fuel, dockage, food, beverages, bar, and other consumables on the charterer's behalf. The Captain will keep all receipts and manage a running balance of the account, so that expenditures can be checked at any time. Any amount not used will be refunded at the end of the charter. If during the charter the costs have exceeded the collected APA, then additional funds will be required for the outstanding bills. All purchases are transparent and nothing is marked up. The APA is used purely for the charterer's provisions and charter-related expenses.
