Captain
Crew
Brief
Captain Robert Bayne
Captain Bob has over 20 years of experience in the yachting industry working with long standing owners for many years. Proven longevity in this ever-changing industry is something he values very highly. Bob has been a yacht captain and project manager overseeing the construction of yachts in Italy, Spain, and local Florida shipyards. With a background in high end construction, Bob also has strong mechanical skills, being a hands-on captain with a positive attitude. Bob has extensive experience in cruising almost anywhere in the world. His travels have included the North and South Pacific Oceans, Panama Canal, US East and Gulf Coasts, the Great Lakes, Bahamas, Caribbean, and the Mediterranean waters. Captain Bob prides himself with having great people skills, offering five-star service, and anticipating guests needs ahead of time. Once on board it is easy to see that Bob enjoys what he does and is hardworking and energetic. During time off you will find him fishing, surfing, windsurfing, and snorkeling. Captain Bob and his crew look forward to welcoming you on board QUINTESSA.
Chief Stewardess Shawna Taylor
An adventurer at heart, Shawna grew up a Military brat living in various places when young. Her family finally settled in Oklahoma where she spent the remainder of her childhood on a farm. She began her career as a caregiver that led into taking interior service classes. Her next step was a private estate with a heavy dose of entertaining. The next logical step for a girl who is used to moving around a lot…. a moveable estate, aka: a yacht! Her adventurer spirit blends well with her career in yachting. She’s a team player and looks forward to being an integral part of the QUINTESSA team to make you trip a memory to last a lifetime! Fun fact: she also speaks Korean!
Stewardess/Deckhand Payton Gallardo
Payton grew up in the windy city of Chicago. With her beautiful singing voice, she decided to study music in college as was part of an a cappella singing group. The group had the opportunity to travel to Moscow to sing in a competition and thus her desire to travel was born. She decided to combine her experience as a server and bartender in restaurants with her newfound passion of traveling and started her path in yachting.
Chef Paul Carmean
Paul found himself traveling around the world whether with the U.S. Navy or in search of good waves to surf. Through his travels he has absorbed cultures and sampled food in places like Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, Bali, Puerto Rico, Oman and even Djibouti. He has an artistic and creative side which he likes to lean on when creating in the galley. His early days in the service industry found him at high-end bars and restaurants in Palm Beach and New York. When on a surfing trip in Puerto Rico with friends he discovered the world of yachting! The rest is history when he realized he could combine his love for traveling, cooking and the ocean. When not cooking Paul loves surfing, fishing, and diving.

This Yacht offers a “Plus Expenses” Rate:
Included are the Yacht and its onboard equipment as well as the Captain, Chef and Crew’s services.
Excluded are food and beverages, fuel for the yacht and its tender, any dockage, airport transfers costs, onshore excursions and tours, as well as any cruising permits, licenses and other charter related expenses. Crew gratuity, although optional is customary at 15% - 20% of the charter rate for the Caribbean and 10% - 15% for the Mediterranean.
Advanced Provisioning Allowance:
For "Plus Expenses" charters, yachts request an Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA), which is generally estimated at 20% - 25% of the base charter fee for sailing yachts (catamarans and monohulls) and at 30%-35% for motor yachts. The APA essentially creates a bank account for the Captain to purchase provisions, fuel, dockage, food, beverages, bar, and other consumables on the charterer's behalf. The Captain will keep all receipts and manage a running balance of the account, so that expenditures can be checked at any time. Any amount not used will be refunded at the end of the charter. If during the charter the costs have exceeded the collected APA, then additional funds will be required for the outstanding bills. All purchases are transparent and nothing is marked up. The APA is used purely for the charterer's provisions and charter-related expenses.
