Captain
Crew
Brief
CAPTAIN: Takis Karapanos
Born and raised in Patras, Achaia, Greece. After completing his studies in Industrial Technology and Management at the University Of Bradford in the UK in 1997, he had been enjoying sailing his private Albin Vega throughout the summers all over the Greek seas and that is when he became acquainted with routes, harbors, coasts and so many more. It was those valuable years that introduced him to engine troubleshooting, emergency situations, crew handling and many more.
By the summer of 2013 he took the decision to follow his heart and work as a daily-cruises professional skipper. Ever since he has been working as a professional skipper and after thousands of miles dockings, anchor drops and crew members he has become a most experienced Captain in all aspects of the profession in both technical & interpersonal matters.
His moto is ''Α good Captain must be a great Host".
CHEF: Eleftheria Varelaki
Chef Eleftheria is a highly experienced professional Chef specialized in Greek and Mediterranean cuisine, and a passionate sailor.
She has developed an excellent knowledge in the planning, preparing, and plating of a variety of dishes and cuisines. She was also a Head Chef in different restaurants in Chania (Crete). She is now the co-owner of her own restaurant from which she has gained the know-how in the management and planning aspects of a culinary establishment.
As a hard-working and conscientious person, she works with great care and is always oriented towards the satisfaction and well-being of her guests. She has no difficulty in working under pressure and is able to address unexpected situations in a productive way. Since she has been sailing for some years now and is used to cooking for a number of people, she is very conscious about the particularities - like timing and space - that come with the working environment of a sailing boat.

This Yacht offers a “Plus Expenses” Rate:
Included are the Yacht and its onboard equipment as well as the Captain, Chef and Crew’s services.
Excluded are food and beverages, fuel for the yacht and its tender, any dockage, airport transfers costs, onshore excursions and tours, as well as any cruising permits, licenses and other charter related expenses. Crew gratuity, although optional is customary at 15% - 20% of the charter rate for the Caribbean and 10% - 15% for the Mediterranean.
Advanced Provisioning Allowance:
For "Plus Expenses" charters, yachts request an Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA), which is generally estimated at 20% - 25% of the base charter fee for sailing yachts (catamarans and monohulls) and at 30%-35% for motor yachts. The APA essentially creates a bank account for the Captain to purchase provisions, fuel, dockage, food, beverages, bar, and other consumables on the charterer's behalf. The Captain will keep all receipts and manage a running balance of the account, so that expenditures can be checked at any time. Any amount not used will be refunded at the end of the charter. If during the charter the costs have exceeded the collected APA, then additional funds will be required for the outstanding bills. All purchases are transparent and nothing is marked up. The APA is used purely for the charterer's provisions and charter-related expenses.
