Ben has over 30 years experience on mega yachts, including 19 years as Captain on yachts ranging from 25m to 50m which included the very popular charter yachts M/Y ENTOURAGE where he spent 4 very busy years building up the yachts impeccable reputation with seasons both in the Mediterranean and Caribbean with many repeat charter clients.
Previous yachts include M.Y. The Devocean, M.Y. Giorgia & M/Y Sealyon, where he added to his already excellent charter reputation, he then worked for the same owner for 4 years on M/Y Serendipity of Cayman, M/Y Serendipity II, M/Y Tsalta.
Ben is a very hands-on captain with extensive knowledge of all areas of yacht management and organization. His personal interests include kite surfing, windsurfing, water-skiing, wake-boarding and sailing, as well as being an advanced open water scuba diver.
Ben is a 5* Captain – one of the best! Hailed for his professionalism and welcoming nature, recently described as “calm, fantastic with his crew and so hands on”.
An absolute pro, friendly, communicative and a great asset to any charter.
CHIEF STEWARDESS: Kathleen Van Eeden
Kathleen hails from Jeffrey’s Bay in South Africa and is a trained dancer and yoga teacher. It was her love for travel and desire to explore that attracted her to the yachting industry and in 2012 she landed her first job as sole stewardess on the busy charter yacht M/Y Happy Hour (32m) before moving quickly onto M/Y Siram (54m).
Kathleen’s prior experience in high end hospitality installed in her an efficient manner, creative thinking and professionalism – all skills that she mirrors today.
In her spare time, Kathleen is unable to resist her love for sport and she is at her happiest when she is involved in any kind of sporting activity.

Six years of experience in the yachting industry provides Katherine with a strong knowledge in her field and a wealth of experience in housekeeping, service and laundry.
Katherine admits to being a natural leader who is comfortable working under pressure while accepting instruction and performing in a team. Her sunny disposition and bilingual capacity shows she is a cool cat when it comes to communicating and is always ready to go the extra mile for guests.
Spare time for Katherine generally involves one of her interests whether that be playing the harmonica, learning languages, painting, rock-climbing or lawn bowls!

This ex-professional cyclist, studied to be a civil engineer and embarked upon his (2nd) career initially in the Netherlands and later back on his home ground of Cape Town, South Africa. The glimpses he got of the sea, whilst on the saddle and from the construction sites always caught his eye and finally in 2016 Jeandré took his first steps into the yachting industry.
With 4 successful seasons behind him, spent on yachts ranging from 27m to 67m, Jeandré has never once taken his eye off the prize and is working hard to attain the necessary qualifications needed for him to make vital progress within his field. He confesses that focus and pride make him a natural leader and his easy- going temperament make him an exemplary crew member!
Jeandré still loves his sports and when time allows, he doesn’t miss a chance to jump on a bike or rush off for a game of squash.

Chris grew up in a family business of restoring and repairing classic British cars from Jaguar, MG and Rolls Royce as well as having boats in the family either going to the dam or Hermanus lagoon for fishing and leisure trips with water sports (skiing, doughnuts and jet ski).Having completed his yacht master sailing from Cape Town to Madagascar in 2015.

“Wil” gained extensive experience on board merchant cargo vessels and has been travelling the world since 2003.
Looking for a change of scene in 2015 he turned his attention to the yachting industry where his focus and skill set were happily received.
Wil admits that his solid background and his reputation as a dependable and a hands-on crew member with a can-do attitude, make him a vital team player and he is happy to join the vibrant crew on board Aura.

This yacht offers an “All Inclusive” Rate:
Typically this includes all your breakfasts, lunches, dinners and snacks. Standard Ship's Bar which includes your alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages. Fuel for the yacht and its tender, and the necessary water for the onboard facilities. Use of the Yacht’s onboard equipment and the Captain, Chef and Crew’s services.
Excluded are airport transfers costs, onshore excursions and tours, as well as any food or beverages purchased ashore. Although optional, crew gratuity is customary at 15% - 20% of the charter rate for the Caribbean and 10% - 15% for the Mediterranean.

This Yacht offers a “Plus Expenses” Rate:
Included are the Yacht and its onboard equipment as well as the Captain, Chef and Crew’s services.
Excluded are food and beverages, fuel for the yacht and its tender, any dockage, airport transfers costs, onshore excursions and tours, as well as any cruising permits, licenses and other charter related expenses. Crew gratuity, although optional is customary at 15% - 20% of the charter rate for the Caribbean and 10% - 15% for the Mediterranean.
Advanced Provisioning Allowance:
For "Plus Expenses" charters, yachts request an Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA), which is generally estimated at 20% - 25% of the base charter fee for sailing yachts (catamarans and monohulls) and at 30%-35% for motor yachts. The APA essentially creates a bank account for the Captain to purchase provisions, fuel, dockage, food, beverages, bar, and other consumables on the charterer's behalf. The Captain will keep all receipts and manage a running balance of the account, so that expenditures can be checked at any time. Any amount not used will be refunded at the end of the charter. If during the charter the costs have exceeded the collected APA, then additional funds will be required for the outstanding bills. All purchases are transparent and nothing is marked up. The APA is used purely for the charterer's provisions and charter-related expenses.
