Captain
Brief
Captain:Lukas Skarafidas
Captain Lukas was born in 1980 and he is a Greek national. He holds bachelor degree in Engineering, a Msc in Advanced Manufacturing Management and Technology and a MSc in Mechanical Engineering. He holds a captain diploma from the Hellenic Merchant Marine Academy and a plethora of certificates proving his professional skills and extensive knowledge. Lukas has served as Captain on board sailing and motor yachts for more than ten years. He has overall responsibility of the vessel as well as of the safety of all passengers on board. He is a hardworking and motivated person constantly working towards customer service in order to offer a memorable yachting experience to all guests onboard Gia Sena. Captain Lukas is a very active and energetic person; he enjoys scuba diving, yacht racing and clay shooting. He speaks Greek, fluent English and basic French.
Chef: Nikos Skordakis
Nikos is Greek, born in 1980. He holds a Chef Diploma from the Greek Culinary School of Heraklion in Crete and he is keeping up to date with his profession attending various seminars. He has worked for many years in luxurious restaurants in Greece and the UK. Nikos specializes in both Mediterranean & International cuisine.⯠He is very passionate about his cuisine, striving to present attractive menus and mouthwatering dishes. He joined Gia Sena’s team in 2019 and he speaks fluent English.
STEWARDESS - Megiona Sachou
Megiona was born in 1995 and she is Greek. She holds a BSC in Criminology with Psychology and a MSC in Crisis and Disaster management from the University of Portsmouth, UK. Megiona has strong communication and interpersonal skills and with previous experience in sales and in customer service in hotels, bar – restaurants has developed excellent service skills. Before joining the team of Gia Sena she worked onboard private yachts. Megiona is an asset to the crew, she is a great team player, hardworking and dedicated to complete customer satisfaction. She loves sports and speaks fluent English and basic French.
Deckhand: Christos Balafas
Greek, born in 1993. Christos holds a Speed boat license and an Offshore sailing diploma from the sailing club of Lefkas. He is an enthusiastic professional who has worked on board charter yachts for more 8 than years. Christos is a hardworking and friendly person. He enjoys hiking, snowboarding, swimming and speaks English.

Inclusions and exclusion are not standardized across the different yachts, with each offering slightly different terms. This yacht offers an “All Inclusive” Rate:
Typically this includes all your breakfasts, lunches, dinners and snacks. Standard Ship's Bar which includes your alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages. Fuel for the yacht and its tender, and the necessary water for the onboard facilities. Use of the Yacht’s onboard equipment and the Captain, Chef and Crew’s services.
Excluded are airport transfers costs, onshore excursions and tours, as well as any food or beverages purchased ashore. Although optional, crew gratuity is customary at 15% - 20% of the charter rate for the Caribbean and 10% - 15% for the Mediterranean.

This Yacht offers a “Plus Expenses” Rate:
Included are the Yacht and its onboard equipment as well as the Captain, Chef and Crew’s services.
Excluded are food and beverages, fuel for the yacht and its tender, any dockage, airport transfers costs, onshore excursions and tours, as well as any cruising permits, licenses and other charter related expenses. Crew gratuity, although optional is customary at 15% - 20% of the charter rate for the Caribbean and 10% - 15% for the Mediterranean.
Advanced Provisioning Allowance:
For "Plus Expenses" charters, yachts request an Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA), which is generally estimated at 20% - 25% of the base charter fee for sailing yachts (catamarans and monohulls) and at 30%-35% for motor yachts. The APA essentially creates a bank account for the Captain to purchase provisions, fuel, dockage, food, beverages, bar, and other consumables on the charterer's behalf. The Captain will keep all receipts and manage a running balance of the account, so that expenditures can be checked at any time. Any amount not used will be refunded at the end of the charter. If during the charter the costs have exceeded the collected APA, then additional funds will be required for the outstanding bills. All purchases are transparent and nothing is marked up. The APA is used purely for the charterer's provisions and charter-related expenses.
