CAPTAIN
Tina Mraovic

Born and raised in Zagreb, the capital of Croatia, Tina studied at the Faculty of Kinesiology. As an elective, she took a class on sailing, and as she says, "Once you try sailing, you get hooked for life!" She has been a captain now for the last six years, sailing the Mediterranean, from Turkey to Greece and Croatia.

During the winter seasons, she went from sailing, to being a ski instructor all over Europe. This year, she is trading in her skis for the tropical waters of the Caribbean! She is passionate about sailing, water sports, diving, running, hiking and just enjoys being physically fit in general. She can’t wait to explore the Caribbean waters and showcase for guests the beauty that the islands hold.

How would you qualify skipper:
Tina was excellent. She was confident with the boat and we knew she was very competent. She was easy to get along with while being properly stern when needed. I can't think of anything negative whatsoever to say about her. She is a huge asset to your company.

How would you qualify rest of the crew:
Thea takes a little time to warm up to. She seems to like things "her way" in the kitchen. That seemed appropriate with the kids, but less so with the adults. Her cooking is very good, but the her cooking style needs a little variety. All in all, I think she serves her purpose, but she is very opinionated and needs some polishing.

How would you qualify the yacht (comfort, features, general maintenance, etc):
Overall, I love the yacht. It was very clean and comfortable. The only negative I have to say about it is the smell in the stateroom. It was not pleasant. Otherwise, A+. Speaker location is bad on this boat. This caused a lot of our issues with Thea. You can't hear the music in the back of the boat unless it is blaring in the galley or flybridge. This has to drive Thea crazy listening to loud music while she prepares meals. Several times we used our own portable speaker instead of the boat speakers. If any way possible to install speakers towards the stern of the boat, you should do so. To me, this was the biggest issue of the boat.

How would you qualify the itinerary:
We had a great time at every location and the variety was nice. My only request would have been to plan a hike somewhere to the top of one of the mountains for the view as well as a little exercise.

How would you qualify the sports and leisure activities/equipment on board:
This is both good and bad. The paddleboards were only average and very hard to balance on. I have owned two, so I am experienced but these are below average. The little dive motors were awesome. The kids loved them and I enjoyed them anytime the current was moving a little. Great addition to the boat. Having the wakeboard was a big hit. I think you could add a kneeboard or skis for less experienced people. My suggestion would be to improve your fishing equipment. Although I wouldn't expect a full setup, I think a better supply of fishing equipment would be a good addition. Snorkels and masks were good, although we were short some of the trip because kids took the equipment back to other boats. Not your fault! The additional equipment is a big bonus, so anything you add in the future makes a big difference.

How would you qualify the food and drinks:
A mixed bag. The drink selection seemed lacking. With 4 kids on our boat, all we had to drink was water and Diet Coke. I think we were expecting and maybe even requested Gatorade and some other soft drinks. The alcohol selection was decent, but I ran out of Gin after just a few drinks. I think the bottle was there from a previous charter maybe. Overall, the alcohol selection was adequate. Food: the quality of food was excellent. Thea is a great cook. I have a few suggestions: 1. Lighter lunches. A few of the lunches were very heavy, so much that by dinner we didn't have much of an appetite. Not only the selection to be lighter but less portions. I don't like to throw out a lot of food and I felt like we did. Better than being short food, but just something to think about (hard to judge though based on personal preferences though I guess.) 2. More variety. Thea loves to create meals and they are very good, but there is too much pasta and mediterranean-styled meals. By the end of the trip, we were craving a simple cheeseburger. This could probably be solved by serving lighter lunches as well. Also, everyone requested steak on our boat but it wasn't served. I suspect that to be because Thea likes to make what she wants to make. Don't get me wrong though, the overall food experience was very good.

How would you qualify the entire experience of your trip:
This has been a dream of mine for a long time and it did not disappoint. Thank you for that. I wish it were easier to get to you. The travel to and from is pretty difficult, but of course I suppose that helps keep the crowds down. I will remember this trip forever as a great experience and I look forward to doing it again.

How would you qualify skipper:
Tina's excellent, and while new to the area, picked up what we could share very quickly.

How would you qualify rest of the crew:
Greg is a rockstar - consider him 6-stars; I would choose my next charter based on wherever he's working.

How would you qualify the yacht (comfort, features, general maintenance, etc):
The new Bali 48 is a superb vessel; very well laid out with great spaces to relax in - highly recommended.

How would you qualify the itinerary:
We lived, we laughed, we sailed... we went wherever/whenever so the itinerary was all us!

How would you qualify the sports and leisure activities/equipment on board:
Paddle board, tow board behind the boat, available fins and snorkels - all good. Jeffie wants to try Snuba someday, so maybe next time.

How would you qualify the food and drinks:
Incredible. Thank god Greg isn't for hire as a private chef - I'd be very happy but weigh 1000 lbs!

How would you qualify the entire experience of your trip:
Perfect trip.
