Captain
Crew
Brief
Bruno Masetti is the captain of MY LUAR. With a Diploma in Nautical Science and a Master in Multimedia Arts, Captain Masetti has collected 15 years of experience in the yachting industry. “An honest person with a huge passion for his work” these are LUAR’s Owner’s words used to describe Captain Masetti. He always proves to be reliable, attentive and respectful, mixing determination and empathy. Able to solve small and large setbacks without guests noticing or experiencing anything.
Highly skilled in selecting and managing the crew, Captain Masetti always succeeds in keeping harmony and good vibes on board. His ability in conducting and maneuvering, both day and night, is proved by the numerous and long transoceanic crossings he made over the time. Last but not least, Captain Bruno is passionate about cooking and is Top Chef with organizational and creative skills.
He is Italian mother tongue, speaks fluent English and has basic knowledge of French.
Vito is the First Officer on board LUAR. Born in Pantelleria (a small island of the Mediterranean Sea), he graduated from the Nautical High School of Trapani. During the academic period Vito improved his skills embarking as Deck Cadet on merchant vessels worldwide. In 2017 became a Navigational Officer and approached the yachting world gaining more experience as Deckhand on board different types of motor yachts.
Besides his technical skills, Vito is a very humble person, respectful and hard-working. The person to rely on, when it comes to getting in touch with the sea.
Flavia is LUAR’s Sole Italian/Brazilian Stewardess with a background as a tour guide, attentive and punctual in service. Graduated in business administration, tourism and nautical professional, Flavia will be an added value for the guest who would also like to explore the places through shore excursions.
Strengths: the Caipirinha
Monica Pecchia is LUAR’s Top Chef! Thanks to her qualities, the service on board LUAR has reached the highest level of cuisine.
Born and raised in Viareggio, she developed her passion for traditional local cuisine and attended a cooking course that gave her the tools to become a professional chef. Monica started her career in a very popular restaurant in her town where she worked for ï¬ve years. During this time, there was no lack of challenges and the desire to learn; She started out as a commis and worked her way up to chef de partie. After this wonderful experience Monica decided to take on a new challenge and follow her other passion, the world of yachting. For one season she worked as a hostess and then she combined her two interests and began her career as a professional yacht chef.
Monica’s cuisine is strongly inï¬uenced by the tradition and culture of her home land without lacking elements of innovation and experimentation. Special attention to cuisine and service make the Luar a true " floating dining gem " where unique experiences can be had.

This Yacht offers a “Plus Expenses” Rate:
Included are the Yacht and its onboard equipment as well as the Captain, Chef and Crew’s services.
Excluded are food and beverages, fuel for the yacht and its tender, any dockage, airport transfers costs, onshore excursions and tours, as well as any cruising permits, licenses and other charter related expenses. Crew gratuity, although optional is customary at 15% - 20% of the charter rate for the Caribbean and 10% - 15% for the Mediterranean.
Advanced Provisioning Allowance:
For "Plus Expenses" charters, yachts request an Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA), which is generally estimated at 20% - 25% of the base charter fee for sailing yachts (catamarans and monohulls) and at 30%-35% for motor yachts. The APA essentially creates a bank account for the Captain to purchase provisions, fuel, dockage, food, beverages, bar, and other consumables on the charterer's behalf. The Captain will keep all receipts and manage a running balance of the account, so that expenditures can be checked at any time. Any amount not used will be refunded at the end of the charter. If during the charter the costs have exceeded the collected APA, then additional funds will be required for the outstanding bills. All purchases are transparent and nothing is marked up. The APA is used purely for the charterer's provisions and charter-related expenses.
