Captain
Crew
Brief
In 2013, Manna was built by Royal Cape Catamaran in Durban, South Africa. She is a true 53' ocean going vessel customized for the Scuba Diver with water level dive entry and ladder. Once the yacht was launched and sea trails were completed, Manna sailed across the Atlantic to the Caribbean islands.
Manna’s team consists of Captain Allen and Chef Lucrecia “Lu” Lawson who are also from Texas. Allen Lawson was raised in a family that loved boating. At a very young age, he found his first love and bought a Cabin Cruiser at the age of 24. For the last decade, Allen has been sailing the seas around the world with friends and family, so you can sail in peace knowing that your Captain is up for any task at hand. Chef Lu started her journey under the guidance of a family of chefs. With a hit of Southern style to her cooking, Chef Lu will keep your palates entertained, and wondering how it is even possible that each meal gets better and better! Wow, my taste buds are getting excited just thinking about it. Together they make the Ultimate team and on the Seas it’s a combo that spares no attention to detail. With Allen’s “ Get’er Done” mentality, fun and lovable personality matched by the attentiveness and out-going personality of Lu, trust us when we say you will wish your trip never ends!
If you’re looking for a Charter Group you can trust in delivering the knowledge, skill, safety and expertise, along with the needed excitement to make your vacation special, look no further. The Team with S/V Manna is your ticket. Take a moment and read the reviews and you will find the they can customize any vacation for anybody, including your own group. Simply tell them what you want and sit back and watch the Magic happen.
Scuba Dive? Of course. Allen is a PADI Instructor with a strong passion for diving. When divers come onboard, S/V Manna offers "Unlimited" dives to all certified divers. Who does that? Forget about the need to schedule and pay the additional cost for rendezvous diving or dives onboard. It's all part of the package and Allen will dive with you as much as you would like at no extra charge. Now that’s walking the talk.
Not a diver? No worries we have plenty for you to do above the water including skiing, wake boarding, towable's, hiking and dancing among a few. Who knows maybe you would like to give diving a try through a discover scuba course or even complete a scuba certification while onboard. There is a charge for the PADI Certification but no charge for your dives. If that is of interest, visit with Allen before your Charter starts and he will be more than happy to put a plan together just for you. Some studies will need to be done online prior to arriving.
To wrap this Crew profile up, Allen has an experience level of over 20+ years sailing and learning some of the best locations throughout the Caribbean islands in order to share the Magic with you. So, wait no longer! Come aboard and let’s get this party started!
Side Note from the Crew: We strongly believe it’s every individual Choice whether or not to get the vaccination. We do not judge one’s decision, that’s your Choice. For your peace of mind along with the ease of clearing customs in different countries we travel, we the crew decided to go ahead and receive both vaccines for COVID along with the booster shot. Unlike the airlines and regardless of one’s decision, No Mask, No Shoes and No Shirt is no problem on board. Yay!
Crew are fully vaccinated for COVID 19

This Yacht offers a “Plus Expenses” Rate:
Included are the Yacht and its onboard equipment as well as the Captain, Chef and Crew’s services.
Excluded are food and beverages, fuel for the yacht and its tender, any dockage, airport transfers costs, onshore excursions and tours, as well as any cruising permits, licenses and other charter related expenses. Crew gratuity, although optional is customary at 15% - 20% of the charter rate for the Caribbean and 10% - 15% for the Mediterranean.
Advanced Provisioning Allowance:
For "Plus Expenses" charters, yachts request an Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA), which is generally estimated at 20% - 25% of the base charter fee for sailing yachts (catamarans and monohulls) and at 30%-35% for motor yachts. The APA essentially creates a bank account for the Captain to purchase provisions, fuel, dockage, food, beverages, bar, and other consumables on the charterer's behalf. The Captain will keep all receipts and manage a running balance of the account, so that expenditures can be checked at any time. Any amount not used will be refunded at the end of the charter. If during the charter the costs have exceeded the collected APA, then additional funds will be required for the outstanding bills. All purchases are transparent and nothing is marked up. The APA is used purely for the charterer's provisions and charter-related expenses.
