Brief

Captain Wayne and Chef Emily Keese are both originally from Texas. They met skydiving in the late 1990's and have always led a very adventurous lifestyle together.

Wayne began his adventurous lifestyle at the age of 16 when he found the love of flying an airplane. He joined the Army at the age of 17 and became part of an airborne unit which sparked his desire to skydive professionally. He later pursued his instructor's ratings and began Eagle Flight Skydiving in Granbury, Texas to share the sport with others.

Emily pursued a career as a pharmacist. As a way of giving back, Emily volunteers working with groups like Open Arms International in Eldoret, Kenya and Outreach organizations on the Amazon River assisting with the needed medical camps.

Wayne and Emily found a new love of scuba while honeymooning in Cozumel. They have both pursued their Padi Divemaster, Rescue Diver and Emergency First Response Trainer certifications. With several dive vacations, their love of the sea grew and they had a dream to purchase their own sailboat at some point.

In 2013, they commissioned Royal Cape Catamaran in Durban, South Africa to build S/V Manna, a true 53' ocean going vessel. After sailing Manna across the Atlantic and the love for the islands in BVI it was decided to share the passion with others by chartering her in the BVI for a few years before continuing on with circumnavigating. In the last two years during the off season they have sailed over 20,000 nautical miles abroad delivering supplies for humanitarian efforts in areas like Haiti along with providing aid for full time missionaries in the field around the world. During these new adventures Wayne and Emily both have earned their USCG 100 ton Master Ratings with Sail Endorsements.

You will find the crew aboard S/V Manna to be awesome and extremely unique. Whether you're looking for a slow relaxing vacation or a fast paced adventure the crew onboard Manna has the knowledge and skills to deliver. You and your guest are truly in for the vacation of a lifetime.

How would you qualify skipper:
Just returned from the most incredible vacation, sailing the waters of the US Virgin Islands, British Virgin Islands and Spanish Virgin Islands aboard Manna with Captain Wayne Keese and his wife, First Mate, Co-Captain, and superb Chef Emily. They hosted the six of us aboard their beautiful yacht, Manna. Capt. Wayne and I charted our course throughout the week based upon our party’s’ interests, desires, weather, safety, and personal comforts. These two are professionals who really enjoy and know how to sail, scuba dive, cook, and entertain. They are the most gracious and considerate of hosts. Captain Wayne knew the perfect balance of motoring and sailing to ensure we saw and enjoyed all there was to see and be enjoyed but to also ensure maximum comfort on board. Not for a moment did anyone in our party ever feel sea sick or unsafe. The sign of a seasoned Captain and Crew.

How would you qualify rest of the crew:
Emily had the coffee maker brewing each morning… Your senses would then turn to the aroma of the mornings breakfast surprise Emily had made that day (not one repeat meal breakfast, lunch, or dinner all week). As foodies, we all agreed, Emily’s cooking is that of a true culinary expert. Plenty to eat, drink, and served with style. Emily was the perfect hostess, ensuring the water and beverage coolers were always stocked, beach towels were plentiful, each cabin and ensuite lavatory clean and linens fresh. Don’t let her hostess skills sway you, she’s a scuba instructor and credentialed mariner with a keen eye and quick hand for wrangling mooring pennants in a blow. Step aside when the boat hook is in hand.

How would you qualify the yacht (comfort, features, general maintenance, etc):
Manna was the perfect charter yacht, a well-appointed catamaran with amenities not often found on comparable yachts. Captain Wayne maintains his yacht to standards many boat owners do not.

How would you qualify the itinerary:
Captain Wayne was outstanding when it came to our itinerary, he maximized our fun and island adventures to ensure all interests and desires were fulfilled. His flexibility and route planning enabled us to enjoy a point to point charter further extending the number of islands we could explore and enjoy.

How would you qualify the sports and leisure activities/equipment on board:
The tender aboard was a RIB outfitted with a 70hp outboard, capable of transporting our party anywhere we wanted in one trip comfortably. Enjoyed the abundance of water sports equipment available: water skis, wakeboard, stand-up paddle boards, kayak, sub-wing, floating island, 3-person tow-able tube, scuba and snorkeling gear.

How would you qualify the food and drinks:
Emily’s cooking is that of a true culinary expert. Plenty to eat, drink, and served with style. She didn't disappoint even when it came to special dietary requests.

How would you qualify the entire experience of your trip:
So, if you love fun, the water, love to sail, love to eat amazing food and enjoy refreshing cocktails, and do it all in one of the most beautiful spots in the world, Capt. Wayne & Emily aboard Manna are what you are looking for. We could go on about snorkeling, kayaking, tubing, water skiing, grilling on the poop deck, costumed theme parties, special meals, fresh lobster, and an unforgettable island tour of Culebra on golf carts, hiking on Culebrita, scuba diving for lost treasures, snorkeling with sea turtles … but my review is getting too long. We just want to end thanking Wayne & Emily for not just being our hosts and crew for the week, but being part of the most incredible vacation, we could have ever dreamed of having. We look forward to our next vacation aboard Manna.

How would you qualify skipper:
Always smiling, laughing and helpful at any time. Wanted to make sure we saw, and did, everything we wanted. Very personable.

How would you qualify rest of the crew:
Emily was a wonderful cook and always had perfect meals for times with our activities. Very nice, even tempered and one heck of a first mate.

How would you qualify the yacht (comfort, features, general maintenance, etc):
Very comfortable, clean and well maintained. Lots of fun toys.

How would you qualify the itinerary:
Tailored to our desires since we were familiar with the area. Also had great suggestions for new places to visit. Wayne was happy to spend two nights at Jost for relaxing and water sports.

How would you qualify the sports and leisure activities/equipment on board:
Excellent! Wayne was anxious to dive and was very patient with less experienced divers. Blew up special paddle board and lily pad for us. Kayak too.

How would you qualify the food and drinks:
Amazing food. Simply prepared and beautifully served. Good mix of large meals and lighter meals.

Great skipper, had a lot of fun diving with Wayne.

How would you qualify rest of the crew:
Emily is absolutely fantastic, great on and around the boat and an amazing chef.

How would you qualify the yacht (comfort, features, general maintenance, etc):
Overly impressed, everything we needed was at our fingertips.

How would you qualify the itinerary:
Great itinerary but when we come back will "slow down" a little and spend more time at each mooring. Especially in JVD island.

How would you qualify the sports and leisure activities/equipment on board:
Fantastic - got to do 4 or 5 amazing dives with Wayne and the ladies made full use of the paddle boards.

How would you qualify the food and drinks:
Excellent!!! We had 3 meals a day that were prepared by Emily and we were never left hungry. Some of the meals were prepared by what felt like a 5 star restaurant.

How would you qualify the entire experience of your trip:
Overall an amazing experience from the day we arrived to our last day. We are definitely coming back to do all over again - LOVED IT!
