Captain
Crew
Brief
Capt. Ted grew up in chilly Chicago, on the blustery shores of Lake Michigan, but left for the sunny climes of South Florida for school. This was followed by 25 years in the heart of American viticulture, the Napa Valley. There, Ted was involved in making and marketing wine worldwide. Eventually fate lead Ted to the sailing capital of Newport, and he has since pursued his love of yachting and the water. The BVI fell onto Ted's navigational chart over 8 years ago and he has been providing a bespoke experience to his charter guests ever since. His intimate knowledge of the islands allows for a one of a kind island adventure.
Summer seasons will see Capt. Ted returning Gyrfalcon to the Mediterranean, while in the winters Ted and Gyrfalcon return to the sunny Caribbean.
Chef Sunil
Born in India and raised in Dubai and then immigrating to Queens, NYC at the age of 16 was a huge culture shock but also an exciting discovery of new ideas and cuisines.
Chef Sunil Sharma found his culinary passion at age of 17 working as a prep cook for a local Italian restaurant in Queens NY. It was not long before he started moving up the ladder and decided to attend Culinary school. While working under prestigious Chefs, Chef Sunil attended SUNY Albany where he received scholarships for his excellence. His journey took him all over the country, learning regional techniques and cuisine in New York, San Francisco and Caribbean.
With each dish he creates, Chef Sunil strives to be innovative, yet stay true to tradition, taste and technique to provide an unforgettable dining experience.
Chief Stewardess Michelle
The crystal clear blue waters of the Caribbean have been home to Michelle for over 20 years. Originally from Boston, Michelle moved to the Virgin Islands after graduating college in the 90s. In 2006 she relocated with her family to Bethesda Maryland. Over the next 10 years she travelled extensively, and in 2018 Michelle came back to Virgin Islands to repair and develop her hurricane damaged properties. Shortly thereafter, she met Captain Ted, and the adventure continues! Michelle’s bubbly personality and commitment to excellence in guest satisfaction will ensure an amazing and memorable charter experience.

This Yacht offers a “Plus Expenses” Rate:
Included are the Yacht and its onboard equipment as well as the Captain, Chef and Crew’s services.
Excluded are food and beverages, fuel for the yacht and its tender, any dockage, airport transfers costs, onshore excursions and tours, as well as any cruising permits, licenses and other charter related expenses. Crew gratuity, although optional is customary at 15% - 20% of the charter rate for the Caribbean and 10% - 15% for the Mediterranean.
Advanced Provisioning Allowance:
For "Plus Expenses" charters, yachts request an Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA), which is generally estimated at 20% - 25% of the base charter fee for sailing yachts (catamarans and monohulls) and at 30%-35% for motor yachts. The APA essentially creates a bank account for the Captain to purchase provisions, fuel, dockage, food, beverages, bar, and other consumables on the charterer's behalf. The Captain will keep all receipts and manage a running balance of the account, so that expenditures can be checked at any time. Any amount not used will be refunded at the end of the charter. If during the charter the costs have exceeded the collected APA, then additional funds will be required for the outstanding bills. All purchases are transparent and nothing is marked up. The APA is used purely for the charterer's provisions and charter-related expenses.
