Ritzy Charters Attends 4th Turkish Charter Show

The TYBA Yachting and Brokers Association recently held its 4th Yacht Charter Show May 5-9,2023 at D-Marin in Gocek, on the Turkish Coast, an exciting and beautiful location, emerging as the new hot-stop for Turkish yachting.
Ritzy Charters brokers Mariela Pesci and Mike Piper attended the show to enhance their firsthand knowledge of the destination and the yachts available for charter here. They boarded the attending yachts to get first-hand impressions, visit with the crew, sample menus and overall to capture a feel of the type of experience they will offer to guests. Various seminars were held during the show to familiarize brokers with Turkey as an exciting global charter destination that has much to offer visiting charter guests. Topics included information on visiting Turkey’s many ancient sites, a discussion of wines in the region, and a local event, the Bodrum Cup, a traditional Wooden Gulet Regatta. Evening events included a variety of social events including a “Yacht Hop” for less formal networking with yacht crew and other industry professionals.

Chefs' Competition: Turkish Meal
Typical of a yacht show, a highlight was the Chef’s competition where the challenge was to create a Turkish meal with a modern twist, including a meze (hot or cold), a main dish and dessert. In addition to preparing the meal, each competing Chef had 20 minutes to present the meal, explaining the dishes in English, along with what makes each dish unique. The panel of 3 judges awarded points for flavor, nutrition, creativity, presentation, table setting and knowledge of the modern Turkish kitchen.
